About us

THE DANGO & DIENENTHAL GROUP

DANGO & DIENENTHAL is a company with a long tradition: it was founded in 1865 as a non-ferrous metal foundry by August Dango and Louis Dienenthal. Since then, our company has developed into the world-renowned premium manufacturer of special machinery and plants for the production, forming and processing of semi-finished products made of steel and non-ferrous metals.

The company's main areas of expertise are:
+ Melting and forging
+ Rolling and bending
+ Heat treatment

The scope of delivery includes:
+ Tapping and measuring equipment for blast furnaces (e.g. taphole openers, clay guns, cover manipulators and probes)
+ Machines for open-die and closed-die forging as well as ring rolling plants (e.g. forging and transport manipulators, heavy-load robots and handling machines)
+ Automated transport equipment for heat treatment (e.g. transport manipulators, heavy-load robots and handling machines)
+ Tending machines for melting furnaces (charging, stoking and distribution machines)
+ Deslagging equipment
+ Machines for the pipe industry (e.g. pipe sizers and expanders)
+ Equipment for solid-liquid filtration (filter systems and separators)

At the heart of our work is thinking in terms of processes, so that our customers can produce forgings, rings, pipes and plates that precisely meet their clients' specifications. This also includes the customer-specific integration of our equipment into the increasingly complex digital data world of the plants.

Our machines operate with maximum precision, even under extreme operating conditions. Their MORE in robustness ensures high availability in production day in, day out and thus makes a decisive contribution to our customers' efficient production processes.

MORE PRECISION with our forging manipulators (one rail-bound, one mobile) working in tandem

MORE SPEED with our mobile transport manipulators

MORE REACH with our rail-bound heavy-load robots

MORE EFFICIENCY with our automatic handling technology

MORE MANEUVERABILITY with our tending machines for melting furnaces

MORE YIELD with our deslagging machines

MORE PASSION – we are machine builders with heart and soul

MORE FUTURE – we believe in creating sustainable solutions to make customers strong for the future

MORE IDEAS – our products live from the inventiveness of our employees

Heavy-load Robots – SLR Series

Heavy-load robots of the SLR series are the means of choice for frequently recurring handling operations, such as the transfer of forgings between the furnace and the press as well as the loading and unloading of rotary hearth furnaces.

They are specially designed for use in forging and ring rolling shops, in other words, for heavy loads, high-temperature environments and applications that require a long reach.

Deslagging Machines – SAM Series

Slag skimming machines type SAM by DANGO & DIENENTHAL enable rapid and targeted deslagging of metal bath surfaces. Determining factors are smooth operation movements, supported by independently actuated machine axes and a parallel-lifting system for the vertical movement of the skimming plate.

Thanks to the choice between manual, semi-automatic or automatic operation the SAM provides maximum performance, and flexibility of the deslagging process.

Mobile Forging Manipulators – MSM Series

The mobile forging manipulators of the MSM series have the perfect design to cope with the challenging operating conditions in forging shops. They are compact, easily maneuverable, robust and designed to operate in high-temperature environments.

An MSM can operate as a single unit or in tandem with a rail-bound manipulator. The operation in tandem guarantees maximum precision, especially when forging long and heavy components.

Rail-Bound Forging Manipulators – SSM Series

The rail-bound forging manipulators of the SSM series were specially developed in order to forge challenging workpieces.

These manipulators have tongs with high longterm movement accuracy, which guarantees that forgings are always precisely positioned in the press. This enables forging with minimal machining allowances. As a result, significantly less subsequent machining is required in later process stages.

This increased productivity results in faster amortization of the machine and, in the longterm, a more profitable forge.
