Kurtz Casting Solutions - Comprehensive Solutions for Lightweight Construction and E-Mobility
In the field of low pressure casting Kurtz provides machines which are operated with permanent molds and machines for sand-, plaster- or ceramic molds – so called "lost molds". Both aluminum and magnesium alloys can be cast with a Kurtz low pressure casting machine. Low pressure casting is one of the most efficient processes for manufacturing chassis parts in series production - especially with multiple cavities and multiple riser tubes. It is energy efficient, offers high availability and delivers top quality with minimal scrap rates.
The casting machine portfolio is complemented by tiltable gravity and gravity casting machines as well as trimming presses for die-cast parts.
Turnkey Solutions
We already think of an optimized mold parting line for efficient trimming when designing and developing a casting mold or machine. Both casting machines and trimming presses are available as fully automated systems. All components and modules are optimally matched to one another. At Kurtz' the customer obtains planning, engineering, process, and mold technology, melting and furnace technology, automation, peripherals as well as complete casting lines.
Kurtz Low Pressure Casting Machine AL18-16FSC with Furnace Shuttle System
Best casting quality, less nonproductive time, and scrap
Intelligent furnace exchange concepts contribute significantly to the maximum machine availability. Kurtz furnace shuttle systems also ensure highest machine availability increasing productive time and reducing scrap. The result is best castings quality while saving energy.
High clamping force of 38 t with high opening force of 56 t
Die weight 18 t
Maximum availability from peak-time furnace exchange
Reduction in down time
Highest melting quality
Reduction of scrap
Optimum insulation – energy / cost savings
Efficient and energetically advantageous mold cooling
Energy-efficient cooling with up to 128 cooling circuits
High OEE
Kurtz Low Pressure Casting Machine AL13-13SC with Fixed Closing Unit and Furnace Exchange System
The AL13-13SC is a low pressure casting machine with stationary closing unit and movable holding furnace offers better accessibility for maintenance work and allows the use of exchangeable furnace systems by crane and forklift.
Closing unit with 4 solid guiding bars and 2 mold closing cylinders
Electrically resistance-heated furnace with thyristor-controlled output
Furnace exchange system
Mobile furnace for quick riser change, and easy furnace maintenance

Also available as a powerful 2-in-1 solution for permanent mold and lost forms incl. core packages.
Kurtz Trimming Press KPS2000/25-12SKT with Sliding-Tilting Table
Burrs have to be removed prior to the next processing stage of the casting. Kurtz provides highly profitable automated trimming solutions for this purpose. Kurtz trimming presses can be adapted to customers’ individual requirements with a comprehensive range of accessories such as rams, clamp-down and removal devices, blow out and spraying units, cutting impact damping and robot control. The larger working table holds all sizes of trimming tools, even those large enough to trim bodywork components.
Sliding function via hydraulic cylinder
Hydraulic swivel drive tilts up to 180°
Tilt angle freely programmable
Speed profile freely programmable
Recipe management to store machine and process data
Extremely fast trimming press
Kurtz Column Trimming Press KPS3000 for BIG Casting
Kurtz Trimming Presses stand for economical and future-proof punch deburring. In column design, they have a large installation space and free access for automation with loading and unloading options from four sides. Kurtz has been building trimming presses since 2009, sliding-tilting table presses were added in 2011.
Ideal solution for tall parts and parts with large volume
Loading and removal possibilities from four sides
Robust, strongly dimensioned guiding columns
Quick and easy trimming tool change
Ideal flash removal due to large, open channels in the base plate
Machine concept offers space saving installation possibilities/layout as a cell solution
GIGA press for GIGA high pressure casting.
